E-day 2009

Well this year I participated in E-day 2009. It was really fun unloading computers from cars and handing out free software. The purpose of E-day was to make sure computer waste was disposed of in the proper way. I will post some pics of E-day later on.

I'm not sure how I can help the environment any more than I already am but I can try. I'll have I think then post back soon telling everyone what I can do to help.

Matai Islands,Eco houses

A sustainable building, or green building is an outcome of a design which focuses on increasing the efficiency of resource use — energyy, water, and materialss — while reducing building impacts on human health and the environment, during the building's lifecycle, through better siting, designn, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal.
Green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment by:
Efficiently using energy, water, and other resources
Protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity
Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation

Matai island jobs

These are the jobs I think need to be done around the island. We will need: Hunters, Mayor, Farmers, Gardeners, Doctor, Guard, Miners, Architect, Builder, Engineer and politician. If I was to have a job on the island it would be the wildlife manager. This project will be hard but rewarding.

Matai Islands

During the term we will be studying the Matai islands along with some of the other classes. We are supposed to pretend we are to live on islands for a whole year and see what we need. I think we had better start making up jobs for people but I don't think there should only be one mayor it would just cause trouble. Our two things that we have already are Limestone and uranium. There are bound to be wild animals on this island so we need hunters and people to maybe tame some of them.
